'Sabrina the Teenage Witch' is Coming to Netflix!
Based on the comic series "The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina", the made for The CW network show has now been relocated and found it's new home at Netflix. According to Variety the show is set to be a reimagined hourlong drama that would tell the story of Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a dark coming-of-age tale that traffics in horror, the occult and witchcraft. Netflix has given the untitled series a two season, 20-episode order.
“The series is described as being tonally in the vein of horror classics like Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist, and will see Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature as a half-witch, half-mortal while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family, and the daylight world humans inhabit.” Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, chief creative officer of Archie Comics, will serve as writer and executive producer. Berlanti Productions will produce in association with Warner Bros. TV. Lee Toland Krieger, will direct and executive produce. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Jon Goldwater–all executive producers on “Riverdale”–will also executive produce.
If the series is being tonally shaped to resemble aspects of Rosemary's Baby and The Exorcist, then it'll be one creepy fun show!
