trevor SHAND: Co-Host, producer
Trevor is a massive horror and film fanatic and is the dude who stitches the Boo Crew Podcast together and makes it sound creepy and rad, or, tries his best too. He does the same thing for radio stations all over North America including KROQ right here in LA, and across Canada for Rogers Broadcasting-as a voice actor, writer and producer. He doesn’t nearly have enough time to play guitar and bass as much as he used to. When he practiced more as a youngster, it got him on stage a heck of a lot and a few appearances on the Tom Green show, and helped him join another one of his favorite bands in the world on Capitol Records for a few years. He is obsessed with haunted attractions, Disneyland, music and old things.
At the top of his list for fave fright flicks would be, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (’74) // From Dusk Til Dawn (’96) // House Of The Devil (’09) // It Follows (2014) // Mother’s Day (1980) // Trick R Treat (2007) // Nightmare on Elm Street 3 (1987) // Friday The 13th:The Final Chapter (1984)
LAUREN SHAND: Co-Host, producer
Hi my name is Lauren. I was born and raised in Los Angeles. I've loved horror and Halloween for as long as I can remember. My earliest memory is watching 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' when I was about 7. It terrified the hell out of me! I mean what's more horrific then a burned guy killing people in their sleep? Still to this day I have Krueger issues.
Some spooky facts about me are: Our house is decorated for Halloween all year long. We have a magic mirror and secret passage way. I have a weakness for Halloween decorations. I love pumpkin spice everything! And one of my kids was born on Halloween... how cool is that?
I love hanging with my crew and watching horror movies as well as checking out haunts and anything horror related around the city.
My favorite horror movies are as followed and in no specific order: Shaun of the Dead, Trick r Treat, It follows, The Bad seed, Rosemary's Baby, Hocus Pocus, Nightmare on Elm Street (so scary) and Halloween. I was assistant producer for the syndicated radio show 'Loveline' and i'm a producer of The Boo Crew podcast.
austin wilkin: Co-Host
Austin is an archivist and a documentary filmmaker. A child of the VHS era, Austin grew up on John Carpenter, George Romero, Wes Craven, Sam Raimi and an endless amount of wonderfully low-budget B-horror movies.
His first horror film experience was at a birthday party when his friend's older brother put on Friday the 13th (the original). Never before had a film caused him so much fear and joy and fear and excitement, and fear. (Side note: Not long after that, the spoof film Saturday the 14th had much of the same effect).
Favorite films are almost too many to mention. Always a fan of of a good ghost story -- The Inn Keepers, The Others, Housebound (no spoilers); movies that do a lot with a little -- Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Evil Dead + Evil Dead 2, Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, It Follows; genre jumping films like Rosemary's Baby, The Exorcist, Alien; and horror-comedies -- Shaun of the Dead, House (Korean & US), Dead/Alive, Poultrygeist (& any Troma films, really) . Secret favorite: Return of the Living Dead.
Rachel Tejada: Co-Host
Growing up in a family of collectors, Rachel has always had an interest in the odd and unique. One of the first films that made the dark a scary place was Disney's Watcher in the Woods, featuring Bette Davis. It wasn't until Clive Barker's Nightbreed that turned the tide, making monsters into friends.
Rachel works as a video editor, and keeps a curious eye out for the rare and unexpected.
A few of her favorite film frights; The Bride of Frankenstein, An American Werewolf in London, Pet Cemetery, Forbidden Planet, Hellraiser, Carrie, It Follows, The Innkeepers, Day of the Dead, Audition, The Host, Timecrimes and the Descent.
leone d'antonio: Co-Host
Leone is a caffeine-free, lover of all cool and boring technology and science-y stuff. With a passion for the cinema, specially horror movies, he lives for playing guitar, watercolor & oil painting, photography, hiking, and useless movie trivia. Born and raised in Los Angeles with a wonderjunkie personality, he's motivated and driven in the research lab. Did i mention he LOVES guitars? (Bonus points if you feed him before midnight!)
Favorite Horror Movies: The Orphanage (Spanish), Let the Right One In (Swedish), High Tension (French), The Autopsy of Jane Doe, The Exorcist, The Thing (John Carpenter), Suspiria (Italian), Trick ‘r Treat, The Innkeepers, House of the Devil, The Conjuring, Insidious, Halloween (1978), A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), Session 9 and many more!
